"Vacheron is one of the benchmark producers working in Sancerre. They check a lot of my favorite boxes being biodynamic, having incredible vineyard sources and using pristine winemaking to express their fruit. The "Romains" has aromatics that are pure Sancerre, showing that bold citrus tone with notes of grass and capsicum. As it unfolds in the glass, flavors of ruby red grapefruit and passion fruit emerge. The finish is long and rich yet with a sinewy pithy note that should allow this wine to evolve for several more years in bottle.
